Emirates pushes for approval for more German destinations

2010-6-29

Emirates Airline has sent a 12-page position paper to more than 100 German politicians and air-industry experts to press its point that allowing the Dubai-based carrier to fly to more cities in Germany would be a boon for local economies, Dow Jones reported.

Emirates flies to four German cities: Frankfurt, Munich, Duesseldorf and Hamburg. The German government has said that Emirates is welcome to pursue a new destination, such as Berlin, if it drops one of the existing four, but that it isn't considering allowing the airline to fly to more cities in Germany.
