The Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has threatened to take action against the government if it goes ahead with the proposed giveaway of Entebbe International Airport to a foreign investor, the Monitor reported.
FDC's deputy publicity secretary Toterebuka Bamwenda warned that the party would employ legal means to fight the government over the move to give away the country's only international airport.
Government is in the final stages of preparations to hand over management of Entebbe International Airport to Changi Airport Consultants, a Singaporean firm contracted by Dubai based Dodsal Infrastructure Developers Limited to expand the airport and create free trade and export processing zones.
If the government goes ahead with the proposal, Dodsal would be given a 10-year concession to manage the country's only international airport after a government technical team appointed by President Museveni a few weeks ago approved Changi's investment plan.
