Korean Air said it was set to handle record outbound cargo traffic this month, thanks to a steep increase in export volumes by Korean companies.
It will operate an additional 41 freighter flights this month, its largest monthly charter operation ever.
Cargo consisted mainly of IT products bound for the US and Europe.
The record additional flights follow two busy months in September and October, when the airline flew 10 and 13 extra freighter flights, respectively.
Totals of 30,800 tonnes of outbound cargo in September and 33,000 tonnes in October were up 33% and 24% respectively from a year earlier.
In November, outbound cargo volume is expected to jump 57% to 35,000 tonnes.
The airline said the increased traffic coincided with the usual pre-Christmas and Thanksgiving peak, while a recovery in consumer spending in those markets had also fuelled growth in recent months.
