Flybe have axed one of their new routes due to rising fuel costs. The service between Glasgow Airport and Newquay in Cornwall - only launched in April - will stop on August 2.
The regional budget airline say they have not been carrying enough passengers to make money during the current high cost aviation fuel environment. They hope to reinstate the service if the price of fuel goes back down.
A spokesman said: ¡®Flybe have no option but to suspend the Newquay - Glasgow service until such time as fuel prices return to more normal levels. Impacted by the inexorable rise in the price of fuel, the route has proved to be one of Flybe's most marginal new summer ones.¡¯ |
