Thai Airways International said on Wednesday it would increase its fuel surcharges by up to 100 percent for tickets issued from June 25 due to the rising cost of jet fuel.
After the increase, the charges would range from USD$60 to USD$281 per ticket, the national carrier said, adding that it would also suspend its Bangkok-New York service from July 1 to cut operating costs.
For domestic flights, the company would collect a levy of THB850 baht (USD$26) per ticket, excluding the Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son route, where it would only demand THB600 per ticket, it said.
