A new umbrella group of aviation campaigners, Airportwatch Scotland, is due to meet for the first time this week to plan a campaign of action against airport expansions. The group is linked to Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, a coalition of more than 30 environment, development, faith and community groups with more than 1.5 million supporters.
South of the boarder, Airportwatch is a very active and effective campaign group. Sophie Temple Preston, one of the organisers of the new Scottish group, said:'Airports must be stopped from blighting communities with noise, pollution and misery.' |
