The growth in the number of worldwide flights scheduled this month has slowed, signaling a slowdown in the aviation industry, according to new statistics from flight information company OAG.
The world's airlines will operate just 2% more flights in May 2008 compared with May 2007, OAG report. Growth in the middle and far east cover up drops in the USA, where domestic flights dipped 3% compared with May 2007. The transatlantic market is adjusting to the collapse of two Stansted - US airlines - Eos and MAXjet - with growth from new routes out of Heathrow. |
