BA T5 move will not be completed until 2009

2008-5-13

British Airways CEO Willie Walsh admitted during his grilling by a House of Commons Transport Committee on the Heathrow Terminal 5 debacle last week that BA's final long-haul flights to Australia will not be moved from Terminal 4 until January or February 2009, abtn reports.

Mr Walsh also said 23,205 bags had been 'mis-connected' in the first five days of operations at the terminal. BAA CEO Colin Matthews, who also appeared before the Committee, said that 17 lifts at the terminal are still not working, and by the end of the month four will not be operational.
