Guangzhou bonded logistics park starts construction

2008-5-13

GUANGZHOU bonded logistics park, which is the ninth bonded logistics park approved to set up by Beijing, has recently started construction, Xinhua reported.

The logistics park is located inside the Guangzhou Free Trade Zone, covering a half of a square kilometre. The project is expected to be completed and start operation by August this year.

Deputy commissioner of Huangpu Customs Xu Weiwei said the facility will provide logistics, processing, trade, sourcing, distribution, transshipping and other value-added services.

Export cargo will be taken as already exported when they enters the bonded logistics park and exporters can get their tax rebate. As a result, the local products, which are originally produced for export, but need to be sold in the domestic market will no longer have to be exported to Hong Kong and will be imported to mainland, thus saving transport time and money.
