TAP Portugal customers travelling from Gatwick are able to carry more than one bag through security for cabin baggage purposes with immediate effect. The news comes after the government restriction limiting customers to one item of cabin baggage was lifted at the airport last week.
TAP now allows its passengers flying from Gatwick to carry up to two items of hand luggage each, subject to airline rules. Restrictions relating to the size of each item (maximum 56cm tall, 45cm wide and 25cm deep) also apply, as do the rules on carrying liquids through security.
Other airlines operating at Gatwick have not relaxed their one bag restriction, including easyJet and a number of charter airlines. Passengers are advised to check with their airline before setting off for the airport.
