New weekly direct flights with Zoom Airlines linking Gatwick with Georgetown commence in November 2008, marking the first direct service between Britain and Guyana, South America's only English-speaking state, for almost 30 years.
The flights will allow travellers will avoid the difficulties and time consuming transits via the USA or Barbados. They also save passengers around £500 per person on the flight costs.
