Reported resentment arising from Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) over Cathay Pacific's plan to build its own air cargo handling facility has prompted Hong Kong's biggest ground handler to issue a clarification of its views of the matter.
"The Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) acknowledged Hong Kong Airport Authority's decision to award a franchise to Cathay Pacific to operate a new cargo terminal at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA)," the Hactl statement said.
"Hactl will continue to invest and maintain its consistently high levels of services and innovation for its customers, which has played a key role in HKIA becoming one of the world's most successful air cargo hubs," it concluded.
