A US law firm said it has settled a price-fixing case with German airline Lufthansa.
Lufthansa didn't immediately confirm the size of the settlement, but the US law firm Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll said it reached a US$85 million settlement on behalf of customers who purchased air freight shipping services from the airline for transport of goods to, from and within the US.
The Cologne-based airline was among more than 20 airlines named in the class-action lawsuit. Others included British Airways, Air France and CargoLux Airlines.
In February, the Washington-based law firm reached a $200 million settlement with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic on behalf of customers who flew their long-haul flights between the UK and the US.
The two airlines were the subject of a class-action suit in California that alleged they colluded in setting fuel surcharges on long-haul flights.
