LUFTHANSA Cargo and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have signed deal for closer cooperation in the introduction of e-freight to eliminate paper work in the sector.
Lufthansa Cargo will take over the project's management in Germany and oversee the implementation of the processes by stakeholders in the supply chain.
"We are delighted that Lufthansa Cargo has taken on the role of co-ordinator. Germany's biggest cargo carrier commands the necessary resources and know-how. We are sure that the project is in good hands," said Mathias Jakobi, manager of the IATA office in Germany and Austria.
