Delta makes China debut with Shanghai-Atlanta route March 31

2008-3-19

DELTA Air Lines will make its China debut March 31 when it commences daily service between Atlanta and Shanghai, Xinhua reported.

The service operated by B777-200ER planes will provide the southeastern areas of the US with non-stop flights to Shanghai Pudong International Airport from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the report said.

The service will also offer more convenience for Chinese passengers heading for the southeast parts of America and the Caribbean and Latin American destinations, the report said.

"Shanghai is a city that pays great attention to business development. The route will serve as a bridge between Shanghai and 65 million residents in the southeastern US who have active trade communications with China," said Delta vice president Lee Macenczak.

Delta Air Lines has the most extensive air network in the world which covers 315 destinations in 59 countries. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is Delta's largest base in the US and also one of the busiest air hubs in the world.
