2008-1-9

AEROFLOT Cargo's first B737-300F to enter service, will make its maiden flight on 14 January, 2008, flying directly from Manchester to Moscow.

There will be two weekly flights on Mondays and Thursdays, initially with an increase to three flights weekly from February, when the second B737F arrives.

The aircraft will be used throughout Europe and internally within Russia and has a payload of 18 tonnes, with a maximum operating range of 3,500 miles.

Select Airline Management, acting as the GSSA for Aeroflot, said that the aircraft can be bought in 'on demand' in addition to the planned schedule and has the range to operate directly into major Russian destinations on a charter basis. The new 737 will offer the only direct cargo service from the UK to Russia.
