Muscat: Oman will have six more regional airports, Minister of National Economy and Supervisor of the Ministry of Finance Ahmad Bin Abdul Nabi Makki announced while releasing Oman's 2008 budget yesterday.

"Work is underway on the designs for construction of six regional airports in Sohar, Al Duqm, Ras Al Had, Adam, Haima and Shaleem," he said, adding that the expansion plans for the Muscat and Salalah international airports were also on course.

"The Ministry of Transport and Communication and the ministerial committee commissioned for improving the two airports are now reviewing the designs and the detailed maps," he added.
