Aircraft-makers are relishing the region's aviation growth story. US firm Boeing has projected 1,160 new aircraft worth about $190 billion, which will be delivered in the Middle East in the next 20 years.
Its European rival Airbus has estimated deliveries of 940 passenger planes in the Middle East between 2006 and 2025. This would be roughly four per cent of projected global deliveries.
The two companies have announced a string of deals since November.
Boeing reached an understanding to sell 100 planes to DAE and received a $6.1 billion order from Qatar Airways for 30 passenger jets and five freighters at last month's Dubai Air Show.
The US firm also won a $3.2 billion order from Emirates for a dozen planes. |
