Korean Air Cargo to consider request to boost capacity to Israel

2007-12-15

Korean Air Cargo has agreed to "study positively" a request made by the Israeli trading community to raise the capacity on its Korea-Israel route, according to director general of Cargo GSA Israel, Eran Zilberman.

The comments were made at the end of a visit to Israel last week by a delegation of senior officials from Korean Air Cargo, reports the Israeli trade portal, Port2Port.

It said the visit was intended to strengthen the Korean air freight carrier's knowledge about the Israeli air freight industry, as well as improve business contacts with Korean Air Cargo's agency Cargo GSA Israel.

Korean Air Cargo currently operates two weekly cargo flights between Seoul and Tel Aviv, using a Boeing 747 aircraft.

The Korean Air Cargo delegation, headed by Toung Cho, chief of cargo operations for Europe and the Middle East and Kalus Eshlers, director of sales and marketing for Europe and the Middle East, met with several top Israeli importers and exporters who expressed an interest to boost business ties with the carrier, the report added.
