BIDDING closed for Alitalia on 7 December, with three takeover offers from Air France-KLM, Air One and from a consortium led by the Italian lawyer Antonio Baldassarre. A decision could be made as early as tomorrow, 12 December.
Air One is the preferred bidder according to rumours, because Air France's offer includes plans to downsize the Milan Malpensa Airport.
Roberto Formigoni, president of the Lombardy region, will meet with Air France chief executive officer, Cyril Spinetta and Air One owner Carlo Toto today, to open talks. |
