Continental applies to operate daily from Houston to Bogota

2007-12-12

CONTINENTAL Airlines has submitted its application to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to be the first American carrier to provide daily overnight flights between Houston and Bogota.

Continental has asked DOT for authority to institute the new service as part of its summer 2008 schedule and plans to operate the non-stop flights with Boeing 737 aircraft.

If approved Flight CO834 would leave Houston at 2355 hrs and arrive in Bogota at 0509 hrs and Flight CO835 would depart from Bogota at 0015 hrs and arrive at Houston at 0510 hrs.

Continental's proposed Houston-Bogota flights will be timed for business travellers and shippers allowing for a full day's work in either city.

Continental seeks the frequency award as part of a DOT proceeding to allocate up to four daily flights to US carriers between December 2007 and October 2008.
