BAWC on the Bojo run

2007-11-9

THE race begins today to put Beaujolais Nouveau into the glasses of wine enthusiasts around the world. Leading the 'Bojo Run', British Airways World Cargo will ensure that over 300,000 bottles of Beaujolis Nouveau will complete the annual journey from Lyon, France to stores around the globe.

BA World Cargo has been associated with the Beaujolais operation since 1993, but this will be the first time that freighters carrying Beaujolais have been able to land at London Heathrow. In order to make the delivery possible, BA World Cargo has coordinated four airbridges between Lyon airport and London, ensuring that its B747F-400 freighters connect with the carrier's mainline flights out of London.

Stephane Faure, sales manager, France BA World Cargo, said: "BA World Cargo has participated in the 'Bojo Run' for nearly 20 years, during which time we have consistently demonstrated the flexibility and strength of our network to provide additional capacity to meet the requirements of this global one-off project, in addition to our usual freighter schedule."
