Renamed Gamco to boost Mubadala's aviation plan

2007-11-6

Abu Dhabi: The name of the Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company (Gamco) has been changed to Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies, Mubadala Development Company said yesterday.

The new company will have a logo of its own and an enhanced business plan, which will position it into Mubadala's aviation portfolio and help grow the aviation business in the emirate.

"Growth is being driven by rapid UAE and Middle East fleet expansion, with an addressable market of about $4.5 billion.

"Given this scenario, our goal is to grow revenue from a consolidated base of $300 million to $800 million by 2012 with $500 million in investment, primarily in facilities," Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies chief executive John Byers said at a news conference here.
