State-owned Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) signed deals to buy and lease US$1.5 billion worth of aircraft from General Electric unit GE Commercial Aviation and Emirates airline.
DAE, which signed initial agreements to order as many as 200 aircraft from Boeing and Airbus, would buy 20 aircraft from GE Commercial in a $1 billion deal.
The deal could include the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
DAE would also acquire eight A330-200 aircraft from Dubai's government-owned Emirates under a split purchase and leaseback deal worth $500 million.
Emirates on Sunday ordered 93 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, eight of which had been announced previously.
