India:NR introduces new puja special train to Patna

Northern Railway has decided to introduce another special train between New Delhi and Patna from Saturday to accommodate the increasing number of passengers between the two cities.

"The special train will depart from New Delhi at 1745 and will reach Patna next morning at 0815 hrs," an NR official said, adding the train will have no passenger stoppage between the two cities.

"The train, which will run on daily basis till November 15, will leave Patna at 0930 hrs and will arrive here next morning," he said.

Northern Railway is already running 717 trips by special trains this year as compared to 483 in 2006, he said.

Hundreds of thousands of passengers are leaving from here every day for their home cities mainly in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to celebrate Chaath Puja, he said.
