KUEHNE + Nagel has officially opened a new facility at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. Airfreight services will be dedicated to perishables and other niche industries.
Located on the airport's premises, the new building features 3,500 m2 of logistics space and 800 m2 of office space. The focus is on perishable logistics and niche industries such as ship spares, aviation, and oil & energy.
The logistics operator already has airfreight operations in Nieuw Vennep, close to Schiphol Airport and at Aalsmeer, which focuses on the worldwide transport of flowers and bulbs.
Guus van Leeuwen, director airfreight of K+N NV, said: "The opening of this facility is proof of our strong development in the Dutch air cargo market. By bringing together our offering for selected niche markets under one roof, we will be able to benefit from synergies and further improve the service to our customers."
