BA seeks digital agency to back Europe - US flights

2007-10-31

British Airways is looking for a digital advertising agency to spearhead the online launch of its new Europe - US premium flights next year. The agency will develop the website for the as yet unnamed service, which has been given the code name Project Lauren by the airline. Possible brand names include Speedbird - historically a BA call-sign - according to press reports.

The airline plans to operate premium only - believed to be premium economy and business only - routes between major Europe cities and the US, taking advantage of the new open skies treaty and BA's popular brand in the US and continental Europe.

Press reports suggest that BA will launch the airline with two converted Boeing 757 planes, operating routes from two of Amsterdam, Paris and Frankfurt to New York's JFK airport. First it will have to resolve a potential dispute with its pilots, however.
